The fifth and final port of call was the ancient Croatian city of Dubrovnik close to the border of Montenegro.
Access to the city from Emerald, moored off the coast, was by a 15/20 minute tender journey. Upon arrival in the quaint harbour, access to the old city was via the Pile gate, which made for a grand entrance.
The obvious tourist trip was a circular walk around the high sided city walls, which gave fine views of the surrounding area. Like Rovinj and Venice, there was much to photograph and hence the rather larger than normal number of pictures in this gallery!
Unlike Rovinj, this city is somewhat commercialised and was very busy, although not as crowded as Venice....
This section of the photo library contains five galleries, split as follows:
Album 1 - Thomson Emerald Cruise Ship Album 2 - Rovinj, Croatia Album 3 - Trieste, Italy Album 4 - Venice, Italy Album 5 - Dubrovnik, Croatia
