Day 2 (Seward to Anchorage)
We leave Seward around 09:15hrs and motor coach to Anchorage via Moose Pass and
Turnagain Arm, taking in the picturesque scenery of the Central Kenai Peninsula, Chugach Mountains and part of the Cook Inlet along the way.
 First stop was an Animal Sanctuary containing a variety of species including Moose, Caribou
and Bears which have been given a home after encountering problems in the wild.
Lunchtime is spent in the centre of Anchorage
at the Saturday Market, an excellent site for better quality arts and crafts, much of it appeared to be Alaskan made, rather than imported, which was nice to see.
During the afternoon we had a short tour of the city followed by a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Centre, which gave an insight into
the migration, development of skills and way of life of the indigenous people, how they traded and the influence from countries outside the Alaskan region.
The evening was spent sampling some fine dining in Anchorage at a place called the Corsair Restaurant on West Fifth Avenue. The
food was excellent, the seating was more intimate than many places we have visited and the staff and owner was very friendly - no
I have not received any commission for mentioning his place!
