These photographs were taken in May 2003 during a short visit to Guernsey. It is the second largest island after Jersey covering some sixty one square kilometre and has a population of over 58,000.

Local currency is sterling and the economy is geared towards the finance industry and tourism. The island has enjoyed a self governing status from the British Crown for over 800 years.

The islands main facilities are located at St. Peter Port on the east coast. This busy town has many cobbled streets and regency architecture buildings. The harbour and marina is a short walk from the town centre.

Horticulture remains a strong feature of the island and exports much of its produce including tomatoes and flowers.
