These photographs were taken on our holiday to the Island of Lanzarote during late October and early November 2006.
Lanzarote forms part of the Canaries Islands and is
around 60 miles off the African Coast. It is billed as having some of the best beaches in the Canaries, as well as having a spectacular volcanic landscape. From our trip
to Timanfaya I can certainly vouch for that.
As it is generally sunny and warm all year
round, the island is a favourite location for Brits to holiday. The island is smaller than Tenerife and appears to be less commercialised. Flight
time is about four hours from the UK .
Lynn and I like to go away for a short break at this time of year as it is generally quieter (free
from children!) and you get some good offers. We opted for Lanzarote as we had only visited the island for one day in 1996 whilst on holiday
in the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura
We very much enjoyed our holiday and feel sure that we shall revisit the island again.
As this was a relaxation rather than a touring holiday, I have limited the gallery to a selection of photos from the couple of places we visited the
during our stay on the island.
