Timanfaya

It was worth the visit to the Island just to see this area devastated by the volcanic eruptions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The area is quite extensive and clearly has a beauty of its own. The only way to tour the area known as Timanfaya is to take a coach trip from the Timanfaya Centre, which stops along the way to take in the views. However, I believe like our trip, you were not permitted to exit the coach as there were little in the way of passing places and it would appear there was a policy of restricting access.
